Has anyone else seen the hunting video where the guy is wearing a santa outfit and walks right up to a Javelina and kicks it in the butt? I don't think it is necessary to wear it but in some situations it can be helpful. I do wear some of my old BDU's when I go hunting mainly so I don't get my other clothes bloody.

Phil the video was made by a predator hunter by the name of Gerry Blair. He has written several books on hunting as well. He even has pics from the video in the book "Predator Calling" that I read. I am not saying that it can be done on all animals but he said he was making a point that camo is not always necessary. And the fact that Javelina have very poor eye sight.

I would NEVER go into the woods wearing any color that could be confused with the games that has an OPEN SEASON, dark colors and tan are out..... I wear Green Plaid and try to blend in with the area I am hunting, it ain't because I am concerned with a Deer or Bear seeing me, it is because I am concerned another hunter will see me and up goes his rifle to his shoulder so he can check me out with his finger on the trigger and him using his scope like a set of bios. As far as smelling going into the woods, I will have to agree, you either have some real dumb animals or they are tied to a stake. I won't go into the woods with any type of after shave, dedorderant or smoke or anyhting that is un natural to my surroundings. Nature is programmed to run from the smell of smoke, so I am surprised they stick around. You may be surprised how many smelled you and were never seen by you. I also only wash my hunting clothes with light soap and rinse in a long rinse cycle and wil even rinse a second time. Animals sense of smell is many time more keener than ours, so why take chances?
