My favorite is the good ol 270 win. It's pure hell on coyotes with 100 grain hp's and death incarnate on deer and elk with 140 grain Accubonds or 130 grain Partitions.

Win.mod.70 30:06 followed closely by Rem Nylon 66 22lr and Rem.mod 1200 12 ga. If you are short on ammo, it is the eaisest to fine in the stores or in the field.

I love the .22. Also have a 30-30 Winchester until I can trade it off for another .22 pistol.

All except 2 whitetail were taken with a .270, so kudo's to that. 30-30 and my 12 ga. took the others. I like the 7mm family. I might tell you something different tomorrow... |

Difficult question considering I like so many. Are we talking handgun or longgun? I probably shoot more .22's than anything just because of the cost. I haven't done any reloading recently and wonder if my powder and primers are still even any good. My dog walking gun is a .22. Favorite deer rifle for the fields is a .308 mauser mounted w/ a 6.5X20 leuopold. Woods I prefer a lever gun. .357 - .45-90 depending on mood.

Big Shrek, My Winchester 30-30 is one of those short barrel Trapper models. I'd want a pretty good .22 pistol for it. I'm 70 years old and don't want to go on a hunting trek just to shoot the little Bambi's they have here in Florida.

I'd like to find some of those dumb bunnies from the 50's who thought bringing Spanish Boar to Florida was a good idea...the Torquemada would be kinder. ![]() For big deer, I just cross the state line into 'bama or Gawgia

For rifles, it's 7mm-08, for handguns, 10mm. For SASS, 32-20. 12 Gauge for birds. Jim |

right now as far as shooting and PRICE 5.45/39 is great and cheap. but my all time favorite round is 9mm. cheap fun and i can put 18 rounds in one magazine and can put 5 rounds in less than 2 seconds in the a zone.

I'm looking to rebarrel a gun to 6.5 Swede, love the 7-08, admire the Big 7, am playing with my 8x56Rs, but when push comes to shove it's gonna be a 30-06 in my hands this fall.
