Rifles you wish you had back

I had a Mauser 95, don't remember much about it other than I paid $50 (I think) for it. It was re chambered in 7.62 NATO. It had a 24" M.O.B (Minute of barn) at 100yds. I gave it to a friend that really liked it and he can hit an 18" gong with it at 50yds, barely, and he loves it! Go figure! No regrets there.
I had a remington .22 with a green plastic stock I bought for $25 and it had alot of problems. Took it to a gunsmith that told me it would be about $150 to fix it. I told him to keep it. No regrets there.
When I was 18, I traded my stevens .410 to a guy for a really nice electra electric guitar. Although I got the far better end of that deal, I really kind of regret that one.

I had a Ruger ranch rifle that wouldn't shoot for crap! Dumped it. No regrets.

Since then, Any firearm that I've aquired has never and never will be removed from my posession.

A Ruger No 1 in 257 Roberts. That thing could hit every time !! And my FN FAL...

1. Winchester mod 1892 made in 1892 in 32-20
2. Winchester 1895 in 30-40 krag
3. Winchester 1885 single shot in 45-70
4. colt revolver in 22 rl single action
5. Jp Sauer and sons 32 auto with nazi markings and original holster in ex. condition
and many others

This is an easy one......my .243 Sako Forrester that I bought new in 1972. First new gun I ever bought for myself. Was mint when I sold it. Missed it immediately.

Had a Stevens model 56 buckhorn rifle, Savage model 3a single shot, and Springfield model 87 that I sold when I thought I had too many .22's. Now I am down to one .22 and looking for cheap .22.

Marlin bolt action detachable mag .22WRM...stainless. I bought it off a cousin and traded it for a 30/30...that lil .22mag would SHOOT!

Does the M16A2 I carried my first tour count. That rifle in my hands saved my life and the lives of my Marines more time than i want to try to remember. But the fools at the armory also issued it to somebody else in my platoon and he was too scared to pull the trigger. That cost us a few guys my second tour.

I had a Remington 700 BDL Varmint special in 6mm rem and a Weaver widefild 6x scope that I sold to get through a BIG "D". Plus a real sweet Winchester 94 in .22mag went as well.

Hey Rimfire - I sure wished I had it back. It was an honest 1 in rifle with factory ammo. One of those things you do and immediately know it was a mistake.

a Remington pump .22 a type 38 Arisaka that was missing the bolt and a Browning 1919 A-4 machine gun that I had to sell to boost my financial situation.

An AR15 carbine, a S&W 29 Magna Ported and with Pachmar grips. Most of the guns I sold cause I needed/wanted $$ I can't even remember what I bought with the money, but I remember the guns I sold! Dang! Experience is a great teacher, but her bills are high.

I know what ya mean forty... I still wake up from a terrible dream about that pre 64 win. 70 I traded... sure wish I could get her back, with prices on them rascals today it will be a long time before I can replace her..

2 Made me want to cry

1st was when the gov tightened gun control in Australia & I was forced to hand in & watch them crush my first rifle. I was a beautiful BRNO Model 511 Semi Auto .22lr. Paid me $200 in compensation

2nd was when I left Australia to move to Canada. I had to "fire sale" my Tikka M55 .222 & 3-9x40 Tasco World Class Scope to a dealer who paid me $250 for the rifle/scope/Harris bipod/reloading press & dies.
