While I no longer use Core Lokts, I agree with nmhunter. Great bullets. They have been a standard for ages. If cor lokt bullets were anything less, I am sure word would have leaked by now. |

Tacav - I forgot to answer your original question. The best I can suggest is that I know several owners of .270's that argue over 130 vs 150. They both have many 1 shot kills. The late Jack O'Connor was the original .270 "GURU", and did not offer a strong preference himself. If I were to own this fine caliber, I would shoot several sessions with both weight bullets and let the rifle decide which wght groups better. On this one you can't go wrong. May just be the best all around deer caliber made. (Don't tell Thrillbilly though.) Last edited by FortyXDM; 11-04-2009 at 08:25 PM. |

Can't go wrong with core-lockts...I use 130gr in my .270 and have always been impressed with the performance. I have also used 150gr core-lockts in 30.06 and 30/30 to kill deer. The deer seemed to have problems digesting the core-lockts, LOL. and Forty....I heard that!

If your gun shoots the 130 Core Lokts well, in my opinion u can't do any better. I often buy bulk core lokts for some of my deer rifles. My grandsons 6mm Rem. shoots 3 of them into a 3/4" group at a 100 yds. and he kills deer with them with no problems. I saw a giant 8 point killed near here last year with a 243 shooting 100 gr. core lokts. Never saw a better blood trail. Good exit hole too.

130 core lokts are a very good choice. Deadly on deer.

I actually have 2 of the 270's one likes the 130's and the other likes the 140 HP's by Sierra.
