Recommended Rubber Boots

Well, with the gift cards I got for my birthday today, I'm looking to invest in a pair of insulated rubber boots. All I want is a pair thats nicely insulated, dry, and won't fall apart on me. I'm looking at these pairs of boots from Gander Mountain, anything you have to say about these?

I don't know with out trien them on. When you look at the bottom of the boot it does'nt look like they have a substantial platform you'd be standing on and walking.

I would personaly like a heel as wide as the boot where the one pictured is not that way.

Gander should have other boots better that may not cost but a very few dollars more, so go to there store and look and try them on.

If the ones pictured after trien them on look and feel fine to you...Get'um, but I'd look at some other's to....A.H

Gander Mountain has so many other boots with the side zipper, and I just don't want to get stuck with a pair of boots that have a leaky zipper. The muck boots did draw my interest, but a little pricy to me.

A couple of years ago I got a pair of Danner Kestrels in 1200gram Thinsulate. I use them for hunting and Ice Fishing. I used to wear a couple pairs of socks with them but I recently invested in a pair of Snowboard style SmartWOOL brand merino wool socks and only have to wear them without a liner sock and my feet are toasty warm but not overly hot and sweaty either. I personally recommend both.

What ever you get, make sure they fit snugly at the ankles and the instep. Lacross used to make such a boot with airbob soles.

Never tried those boots but I have a pair of Muck boots and love em!! I used to work for an Ag consultant and I had to walk miles a day in muddy cotton fields in my Muck boots and they hold up well. They are light as a feather too!!!

Well, I think my top choice would the Muck Premium Field boots, I plan to go tomorrow to Gander Mountain, I'll try them on and then try on the other pair I was looking at, see if I want to spend the money, which is extremely tight for me right now : /. I got 75 dollars in gift cards, and hopefully i might be getting one more gift card from my brother for my birthday in a card tomorrow. Thanks for all your help guys, I'll let you know if I decide to spend the gift cards on boots, and if I do what kind I buy.

Rubber Hunting Boots at Sportsman's Guide

If I had to pick one for the price, this would be it...

http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/b...rubber%20boots

A mid range priced pair. This one.

But if you've got money to spend, then this would be the one I'd recommend...

You guys don't have red band gumboots? Traditional boots over here.

Archetype_wyo, try the merino with possum fibre in them

I got the muck premium field boots, unfortunately the first day I was wearing em, a sharp log poked a hole through the boot near the top. Needless to say, I was pretty pissed. I patched it up and used em the rest of the weekend, very nice boots except for that one thing.
