My bow hunting day

Posted 03-10-2008 at 02:17 AM by irish murphy
I have been bowhunting for well over 20 years, and after a 5 year spell im back into it.The other day i was out with my brand new second hand Darton woodsman bow.Its a cracker, litterally. The second arrow i was about to fire at a rabbit last week in the morning before work.I had stalked into range in the dark, then sat in the dark waiting for sun up,being eaten on my hands by a very hungry bunch of mozzies.Once i had picked my rabbit i drew the string back.while i was aiming i heard a sound i hadnt heard for a LONG time. The tick tick of the string, then BOOM the string let go.I was lucky i had my head camo on as the string just clipped my right ear and left a small welt on my left wrist.I was lucky. The last string i had let go was a 45# recurve bow over 10 years ago. That one nearly took my chin off.
