Don't be fooled, that baby one you saw in your garage probably retreated to your veggie garden and buried himself. They cocoon and re-emerge in 3 to 7 days as full grown mole men.

I don't think that there ARE any mole men. People see robots in junk piles and "mole men" in groundhogs. Your imaginations are overworked. THERE ARE NO MOLE MEN!

Communism is a good idea...just executed poorly.

Michael Jackson warned us about zombies in his Thriller song...we didn't listen. Somehow he had a magic touch to where he was actually able to tame them to teach them a choreographed dance routine. What a hero he is to be able to dance with them without getting his brain eaten!

Same with mole men. Midas is trying to warn us all...

Yeah, communism is great. How much money do you think the doctors made in the old Soviet Union? And of course, they can all go to the gun store and buy a .357 magnum whenever they want in China, Russia, Cuba, N. Korea, and don't forget England. You gonna vote for Hillary and Bill? They think that they're the people who will execute it properly...or just execute people with books and guns and subversive ideas...like us on G&G.

I'm not trying to be a doctor because I can make lots of money. I can make lots of money through various venues. Like I said, poorly executed communism...It's not a bad idea it's just that people are too selfish for it to ever work properly. And I vote for whoever the heck I want!

i was taught in school that in theory communism was a great thing but that in reality it is unworkable

It's true, communism will never work. That is why we have to teach zombies and RMM well choreographed routines.

Communism is a good idea? Really? Let me tell you why it is an incredibly stupid idea. The premise is that all citizens are going to be socially and economically equal...no wealthy capitalists are needed. So for everybody to be socially and economically equal, you need to reduce everybody to the lowest common denominator.

All men may be created equal in the eyes of The Lord. We are all his children, and deserve to have the same rights guaranteed to us. But we are not all equal in other ways. Some are strong and intelligent. Others are weak and stupid. If we are all to be socially and economically equal, we must all be reduced to the lowest level of the weak and stupid, as the weak just cannot be raised to the level of the strong.

Okay then. If we are an economic society, rather than hunter gatherers, we need a plan for the economy. Suddenly some of the strong are in charge of the economy. Somebody with skills and intelligence needs to make the plan. The weak and stupid cannot do it. They don't know how. Now we have two different classes. But wait! I thought that this was going to be a classless society! What went wrong here?

Okay, well only a FEW are priviliged, and we DO need planners. Well, the planners need sub-planners, now. So there is another class level. Still, most of the people are still equal, but some of the intelligent and strong are getting restless. And we don't want to lose our places at the top to them. And we certainly don't want to share. So, let's take the guns and books away from everybody. We'll give them all certain books to read telling them how happy they are. And we'll have a police force that HAS guns to deal with any of the restless strong. Maybe an army with guns, too. After all, we took the guns from the populace, and after a generation or so, the people will be "educated" by the literature that we have supplied, rather than have their thoughts polluted by a free press with open ideas. Yes, we need to tell the people that they are happy...and lucky to be in a country where everybody is equal. We do not want the strong and intelligent to print anything telling the other citizens that they could do better.

Lots of different levels of authority, here. Planners, sub-planners, police, army, press...hmmm...

Well things are going good for awhile, with the rabble being kept in line by the few elite, until the lack of new ideas starts to stagnate the economy. We've all been indoctrinated by the supplied educational material telling us to be happy and obedient, and to pull ahead for the Mother Land, but no new ideas can come from that kind of a society. So now we need to steal industrial ideas from the capitlist countries to keep up with other world economies. But we can pretend that is not happening...until the day finally comes where we have a workforce that can do nothing, and produce nothing, and the whole shebang just implodes around us. I am not exact on my time line, but it took between 3-4 generations for the Soviet Union to economically collapse, because everybody had to be equal, and nobody could excell. Look at Cuba and North Korea. They're falling apart at the seems, because the Soviet Union used to subsidise them. China is making capitalist style reforms.

So do not tell me that communism is a good idea. It never has been. It never will be. Any social/political/economic system that is based on holding people down to the lowest level of society, while a few are at the top, cannot and will not last without cruel repression of the human being and his spirit.

Oh, I almost forgot...there are camps where the elite can send the workers if they do not think the correct thoughts...like work camps in Siberia. And of course we do not want the workers to leave. So we put up walls and fences and guard towers. We shoot them if they try to get out.

Sounds like a "good idea" gone bad to me.

First of all, I am not a communist, nor do I intend to defend it. I studied it extensively in philosophy in undergrad so I know the theory behind it. Like I said, it's a good idea but it will never succeed. What you've given are poorly executed examples of it. There is no good model of it or else there would be different opinions of it. Man's selfish nature won't allow for it. I don't think it's a bad idea to have everyone in a society cared for and not allowing for an unemployed percentage of the population - like capitalism does. Capitalism wasn't meant to last and it also wasn't meant for everyone to have a job under its philosophy. That post is not teaching me about communism, I already know about it and I know the pitfalls...

I hate to say this but really the longer the democratic way of life has been around the more it more it seems to have morphed into something that strangely resembles communism I hope that everyone realizes that.

We do have a place for the stupid people where if caught trying to escape they very well may be shot. It's called jail.

I do realize that we have many things that make our democratic society better. There are still many more things that make it different. People have became lazy though thinking it will just run itself. They are only partly correct in that thinking though. It will run itself straight into the GROUND.
