Citori Browning 20 Guage over and under

Hello
New! Question is I have a 20 gauge Citori over and under. When I shoot the first shot whether from the top or bottom the second shot is a maybe. It seems as if the percussion of the first shot isn't setting up the second shot is this common? I had a 12 gauge and never had a problem. ---- I know the gun acts off the percussion of the first shot when I tap it on the butt while cleaning it seems to change to second barrel just fine, but this does me no good in the living room.
