Talking with my friend the other day, he was telling me about his seatbelt ticket. He said "It wasn't the government's job to keep him alive!"
He then went on to tell me his dad gets them all the time and refuses to wear one because the issue was not put up for him to vote on rather forced upon him by the federal and state governemnt. He said his dad got one once to which the smug cop asked him "Guess you'll wear your seatbelt now won't you?" His dad looked at him and said "NOPE!" and drove off.
We should all look for ways like this to express our rights to "free speech" and "a redress of grievances" to the powers that be.
I personally like to remove that tag on the matress and ignore the wet paint signs.

It's not a crime to kill yourself, it's a crime to attempt to do so and fail. If you're not wearing your seatbelt and get into a bad accident that disables you the rest of your life. You should not get disability because you chose not to wear your seatbelt. Government is a funny thing, really hard to balance well enough to please everyone.Posted 11-07-2008 at 11:31 AM by TexasT

Sorry but socialism is not a option in my part of the universe . I have a feeling it will be from my cold dead hands as i defend what my brothers faught and died to create and defend. People we are headed down a road that is far removed from the way a patriot is to live. God bless the minutemen we at least have gull to stand in the face of terany and give it the finger.Posted 11-07-2008 at 07:10 PM by kansascoyote

the point is not that they are making us wear our seatbelts, I wear my seatbelt everytime i drive becuase i feel safer, the point is that they are making you do something that has no effect on someone else, in other words they are taking away a RIGHT! regardless of its merit, if they(the governing state and federal body) are allowed to make this decision for me, then whats next. having to explain why i want to own a fireamr before being granted permission. all RIGHTS are based on one thing and one thing only becuase you want to, regardless of reason. with that said does anyone know where i can get cheap ammo for a 7.65x53 argentine mauser not the same as 7.62x54RPosted 11-13-2008 at 09:29 PM by BeelerShooter

I think about this quite a lot. (yes, i'm a fairly dull person).
Part of me resents being told I have to wear a seat belt (or crash helmet, etc). Part of me thinks, if some idiot sideswipes me, I don't want their head landing in my passenger seat. It's my responsibility to make myself as safe as possible, I will usually meet that responsibility. It is others responsibility to do the same. unfortunately, not everyone is responsible.Posted 10-26-2009 at 02:43 AM by petrol
