Reasonable regulation of our rights.

Thought I'd post this here to keep it readily available.
It is necessary to regulate our rights. That is, it is necessary to pass laws to restrict our rights in order to guarantee that other's rights remain intact.
Look at the 1st amendment:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
We have freedom of speech, or do we? I can't stand in front of a business with a sign saying they lie, steal and cheat their customers if it isn't true. Can I? I would be guilty of Slander, or Libel if I printed it. It is also reasonable that I can't go into a theatre and yell fire for gits and shiggles.
I think we can agree that this is a just restriction on our freedom. Now let's look at how that freedom is restricted. The laws are not written to restrcit my rights; moreover they are written to preserve someone else's rights. The Slander/Libel laws deal directly with how someone who wishes to cause harm to another by using speech or print to inflict the harm to that person.
It doesn't deal with decibel level of "audible communication" nor does it refer to print size or number of pages of "written communication". It just simply says it is illegal to deprive someone of their liberty through these means.
This can easily be conveyed to all the other rights we are afforded. The 2nd amendment is the most abused of these rights with "reasonable restrictions". Sadly, most of these reasonable restrictions do not address the preservation of someone else's liberty, yet serve only to restrict one's rights.
It is widely acepted that I can't wave my gun at you while driving down the highway because you are driving slow. It is also acceptable that I can't shoot you because we had an argument about whose sports team is better or the fact that you stole my lunch money. These are the reasonable restrictions I was talking about. You remember them don't you? The ones that actually preserves someone's liberty without restricting mine.
For instance high cap mags have nothing to do with preserving someone's liberty. Just as the size of font I use to claim you are a thief has no bearing on the malfeacance of the statement, 6 bullets or 30 bullets has no bearing on whether I shot you. Either way, I shot you and and deprived you of your liberty. Rate of Fire, Features, Number of Purchases, and Registration of Guns easily translates to Printer Speed, Font Style, Number of Subscriptions, and Registration of Subscriptions. This, of course, is unheard of in the publishing world.
Remember this: The only REASONABLE GUN CONTROL is that which PRESERVES someone's liberty.
