Bruised but not Broken

So this year is coming to an end. I am so glad. This year has by far been the worst year of my life. From major illness, to major break ups, to excruciating 8 hour tests, to the first death of someone really close to my heart. This year hasn't been the easiest one to escape with a smile on my face. It seems like every time I get back on my feet there's something to knock me back down. I'm ready for something good to happen to me.

I'm still optimistic about 2008. It has to be my year.

You know we're all pullin' for ya, Tex! Life can be pretty rough at times, but it usually gets better and it makes you appreciate the good times even more. Hang in there, you've got friends here!

Hang in there, things usually get better and until they do you have friends here that will help anyway they can. Part of the reason for that is that when you are up you seem to go out of your way to make others feel better. What goes around comes around.

Don't feel alone out there, Tex, 2007 has been a strange year for us also. Broke my foot early on and discovered that it was a blessing in disguise as it showed me that it was time to move on from my then current job. Had some recurrent problems with neuritis from a case of the shingles at the same time. In August a bunch of money was discovered missing from the 'family' business, the central air conditioning was sabotaged a couple of days later and three days later the business computer was bombed and the hard drive fried. Simple surgery for my better half turned into a major ordeal, the foot finally healed but the neuritis is STILL there, I'm learning a new career as office manager and enjoying the challenge, husband is healing, business is recovering, central air has been replaced and the computer rebuilt. Things do get better. Just remember that no door is ever closed without a window being opened for you.

On the bright side, I married the man I had spent most of my life hoping I would meet some day. He was worth the wait. Hang in there and watch for that open window.

Well, I'm not a doctor, I'm not a relationships counselor, and I'm not a tutor. But if you head for Southern California this coming year you'll be within shouting distance of me as you cross from Arizona into the Golden State, Texas T.

And I'll cook you a steak, introduce you to my Beagles, and take you shooting in the desert before you head on down the road...

No, but I just got home to my parents house today and there's lots of sweet treats for me to indulge. My mom's bday was yesterday so there's a tasty cake here too.
