Sample of my novel

Here's the prologue and first chapter of my book. The basic premise is that a gang gets the wrong house and kidnaps a guy's wife and kid by mistake. He set off to find them himself and in so doing gains the attention of Homeland Security. Rather than help, they turn it into a test to see if he might be the sort of man they're looking for.
Please let me know what you think, even if it "makes you want to punch yourself in the throat (Billy)".
