Am I sick?

Posted 02-14-2008 at 11:58 PM by toolman
After another rough day @ work, I came home and promptly bought a set of .257 Roberts reloading dies on eBay. This wouldn't normally be a problem BUT, it's not the only set I've bought recently for a caliber I don't currently own! My plan is to use these as an excuse to buy guns to match. My current inventory on dies with no matching guns is currently: RCBS-.243 Win. and .45 ACP (both steel and carbide), Pacific-6.5x55 and .257 Roberts, Redding-7mm-08, Texan-.25-06, Herters-.30-06, and I can't remember...

Grease Monkey

Posted 01-16-2008 at 02:27 AM by toolman
Welp, I'm starting my new job as the manager, mechanic, janitor, accountant, and maintenance man of a small full-service gas station on Friday. I turned wrenches as an ASE certified Master Technician with more factory and independent certifications than I could count for right at 15 years. I then decided to see the world as a trucker, and now I've regressed to changing oil and fixing flats. It's ironic how life works at times. At least I don't have to worry about pumping gas for awhile, the current...

eBay or not?

Posted 01-11-2008 at 01:31 AM by toolman
O'K., I'll admit it, I'm an eBay addict. It's not that I want to deal with eBay\PayPal, but rather that everyone else in the online auction business sucks. FI, I bought a set of RCBS carbide .45 ACP dies on eBay for $13.99 and was able to pick them up, so no shipping charge. The set I was bidding on on GunBroker sold for almost $30 and was identical except for being used more and not having the SWC seating stem. I find this to be the norm rather than the exception. It seems that the guys who deal...

Crossroads or Trainwreck?

Posted 01-09-2008 at 12:40 AM by toolman
Well as some of you know, I've been injured for awhile and am currently unable to return to my job delivering new trucks. My son owns a full service gas station that is in dire need of new management, so I've made the decision to quit my job, take a massive cut in pay and benefits, and shoulder the responsibility of pulling this place out of the crapper so he won't lose it or his other business. Never one to do things the easy way, I'm also in the process of moving to another apt. which will cost...

I love hunting!

Posted 12-30-2007 at 12:18 AM by toolman
I spent a couple of hours in the deer blind with my stepson today and never fired a shot, despite seeing almost 20 deer. I still have a buck tag and we watched a real nice little spike for 1\2 hr or so before deciding to play with him a bit. I pulled out my push-button turkey call, and started messin' with his head. He was headed to the fence before I started calling, then he turned around and started trying to find the psycho turkey making all that racket. We finally decided to let him leave but...
