| Excellent Book. Flyboys by James Bradley 2003 also the author of Flags Of Our Fathers. I just finished this book less than a week after purchasing it. It tells of the air war in the pacific, and more specifically the pilots who were shot down over Chichi Jima. Phenominal read. It will leave you hating the Japanese brass for their warcrimes against aour boys and others. At the same time it shows the havoc wreaked by our U.S. bombers on civy's in Tokyo etc. Just an excellent book all around.

| In fact I would venture to say that literacy probably runs fluently throughout the boards....

| You should read "Pegasus Bridge" by Steven Ambrose. Its about the guys who glidered into France pre D-day. Also my current read is " The Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors : The Extraordinary World War II Story of the U.S. Navy's Finest Hour" -- by James D. Hornfischer. Good story so far. |

| Senior Member | I sort of read lots of books about ww2, this is a great book pearl harbor and the war in the south pacific, its one of those living room table books, oversized, but its great, consultant editor bernard c nalty, technical advisor russ pritchhard, it is the most comprehensive book on ww2 tactics, strategic and tactical,, russ pritchard is one of the best comprehensive writers of military hardware in ww2, its outstanding, if you read a lot about ww2 technical equipment and weaponry, russ pritchard is about as good as it gets |
