How much of a bow hunter are you?

I am interested in the sport, as well as bow fishing. But not as much as I thought I would be in the beginning. Have bow, and a good one.

I love to bow hunt. Can't wait for this season. Dana is right. A lot of shooting does wonders.

DANA, I STILL HAVEN"T TRIED BIRDS YET. BUT IT'S STILL ON MY MIND.

As far as stories; Iv'e had less success with my bow VS gun, but a lot of memorable times in the woods. Also typically get an extended season.

Do you have any specific questions 1*?

It's a Matthew Solocam that I was given. I don't think it fits me though. How do you know if a bow is too big or too small?

The best way to tell if a bow fits good is to go to a good bow shop and let them measure for you. Typically a bow that looks like a toy with a measuring stick on it. (makes a difference shooting fingers or mechanical relaease too)They can make sure that you have propper arrows etc. My first PSE was a bit short & I had to cock my elbow a bit. I have a Reflex now and it fits much better.

I rely on the shop a lot. Unlike guns, with reloading etc. I haven't gotten into making my own arrows, working on the bow.

I have seen the fishing rigs you mentioned in some bow hunting mags. I think some stores like wally world have even had them.

About the best thing you can do for bow hunting along with practice is get good at estimating distance. this can be done in your every day travels. Pick an object and see how close you are to the estimated distance.
