As most of you know I had bought a mint 1964 Fred Bear recurve 55# @ 28”…I probably paid to much for it but I am glad I did… I can’t seem to miss with it… I have only had it set up now for a few weeks and I am obsessive compulsive; so I have been practicing 3 hours a day… It’s addictive and I love the bow… Although my groups are about 12” I maybe at least 60 feet from the target… I also have as 72” hickory 45# English bow that is pretty cool, but I like my Fred Bear better… I have been jumping all over the place with arrows… I have some wood, aluminum and carbon… I am pretty new at this so it will take me a while to dial it in… Fun Fun Fun!

I just bought a bow after a few years break.I used to own a hoyt impala. That bow was a cracker.I shot plenty with it and that was a bare bow.No sights and i used finger. It had speed cams and was set at 65 pounds. The new bow (secondhand) is a Darton woodsman. It waiting for a new string.Last week i took my second shot on a rabbit and heard the tick tick of the string and boom it let go.Nearly took my ear off. This thing has sights a quiver peeps and a few other things.A couple of mates have perswaded me into having a try of it with the sights and a release aid. This thing is set at 60 pounds and it has 75/80% let off.All i need to do now is get some decent arrows and have a play.

I bought a fred bear compound last year. It is set at 70 pounds. I don't shoot that much but I wanted a new toy. Actually the only deer I took last fall was with my bow. It was my first deer with a bow. I was using aluminum arrows, but I swithced to carbon. I should practice more, but I cry a little every time I loose a carbon arrow.

Noel, I commend you on your practice. When you decide on one arrow (weight that is) your groups will tighten. Getting those muscles in shape is the first step to mastering the bow. You sound like you're on your way! What Bear bow do you have?
