I've done that. No big deal! It only took me 40 years and then it wasn't in the bull.

I remember an olympic caliber archer close to where I lived that used to bet guys using a 22 that he could hit closer to the bullseye than them from about 50 yards . But, the archer did get three shots. The 22 shooter would only get one. He had those fancy target sights and he would get it homed in on that third shot! Never heard of him losing and he was not using a compound. Heard the story many times. Some guys are truly amazing shooting bows.

Mythbusters called this one "busted"... guess they'll have to revise that one now.

I have never actually split and arrow, but I have shattered the nocks several times.

I split a carbon arrow a few years ago. I was happy for a few seconds, then I realized that I just destroyed a 10 dollar arrow.

Sorry to disappoint you but Mythbusters was testing period arrows and the arrow in the vid looks like a carbon fiber arrow, and it looks like it doesn't have the nock which would throw off the arrow. It's basically like using a bamboo arrow as it will spilt predictibly. I'd like to see him try it with a whole wood arrow nock and all. I bet he can't do it.

While it is a very good shot,it didnt split the arrow. The arrow didnt have a knock in the end.Looked more like a crossbow bolts end.The arrow looked like it was thinner and was able to go inside the first arrow.

yes it was a good shot but you can't split a whole arrow wood or carbon fiber nock and all, as the incoming arrow would deflect.

This has no nock and is bigger than the incoming arrow.

It's definitely a bolt which makes me think graphics editing software may have been used. Put the bolt in the bull- the archer shoots arrow after arrow and the software simply erases the previous shot. You still have to be good and the bow tuned perfectly but he didn't shoot that first arrow with that bow. And to robin hood it with one shot seems suspicious to me.
