| Bow set up
I have 2 Bowtech bows and one Browning that I hunt with. Depending on my stand selection. If its really thick cover I muse a Browning Miicro adrenaline with a Whisker bisquit. My most used bow is a Bowtech General LH @ 45 lbs. Sword sight. Whammie arrow rest. I shoot Gold Tip Hunter arrows with 100 gr. Thunderheads. I also use a Bowtech Liberty, close to the same setup.

Oh , I forgot. Shooting at deer my max range is 30 yds. Seen too many wounded deer shot over that range. If your bow makes any noise at all. Past 30-35 yds. Deer tend to jusm the string. Their first reaction is straight down.

| Nice Longtail
I shoot a PSE Diamondback. Had a great elk season that just ended 2 days ago. I scored a nice 4x5 bull. The bonus for me was I shot a good size lion. Rule of thumb here is if you see one it's too late. I shot this male at about 20 yds. He ran maybe 50 yds. before he dropped. He saw me but didn't give a rip. Gave me a broad side and stood still just long enough for me to hook up and make the shot. |

I have a PSE Fire Flite 75#. I shoot Carbon Force Radial Weave STL Hunter 400 arrows with 100 grain Rage 2 blade 2" broadheads. Last year was my first year to bow hunt and I never saw anything close enough to shoot. My brother is over seas in Iraq he is in the Air Force Special Forces and said he could get me the 82nd airborne bow for only $500 with everything new. It is a deal they do for the troops over seas. I am thinking of getting it since he was part of the 82nd. I start hunting next week so wish me luck I am dying to kill something with this bow. Also I shoot at targets comfortably up to 60 yards about 3-4" groups.

BTW, you're skinning it for the hide, right??? I can't say I've heard of too many recipes that call for cat... I'll keep my Chinese restaurant jests to myself.

Reflex Grizzly @72lbs, trophy ridge 5 pin flatliner sight, enough limbsavers to dampen a 4.5 earthquake, easton Axis ST arrows with blazer wraps and vanes, rage 3 blade broadheads. Arrows weigh 400gr and leave at 280fps. Not the fastest rig out there but I can keep 3 arrows in a 3" circle at 60 yards. Wouldn't hesitate to shoot a deer at 50 or 60 yards if I couldn't get closer. I really like em at 20 yards tho!

I'm still shooting my old Mathews Conquest Lite. still using my micrometer adjustable finger rest. and still using XX75 aluminum shafts. (I resist changing a perfectly great shooting set-up) when I'm in peak form I can drill tennis balls at 40 yards consistantly. in the woods i limit shots to 20 - 25 yds. I cant see twigs at longer distances. I've blown shots on what I thought was a perfectly clear shooting lane at 33 and 38 only to watch an arrow go up thru the trees or hit the dirt because of a twig I thought was not there. sometimes it's hard to pass on a shot, but unless I'm absolutely certain of the shot, I resist reaching out at longer distances in the woods.

My Bow is so old can't read who makes it. Think it came from Kmart in early 80's. Puts meat on table every year. 40 -50 yds max. And by the way ML meat ROCKS.

Late to the party but...............Old school, Red Wing Re-Curve. Plus, a lefty to boot. !8-20 yards is my comfort range. My R/W is a 46 pounder. Not the fastest by a long shot but still fun to hunt with. |

Old Bear (made in Grayling 1965) re-curve. It pulls 55 lb at 27" draw and I use Micro-flite arrows with Ben Pearson heads. I have taken many deer and 2 black bears with this set-up here in Michigan.

I shoot a PSE Mach X, Winners Choice string, Nap smart rest, Tru-Glo site, Bomar stabilizer, Easton ST Excel arrows, 100 gr. Wasp Sharp Shooter broadheads, Scott Lil' goose release. I like to keep my shots under 30 yards, as think as the woods are where I hunt that isn't too hard....
