I don't know where CHROMIE got his information but my carbon arrows are straighter than his alluminum and they stay that way which his aluminum will not. I have killed as many as four hogs with one arrow and broadhead that is something that aluminum will not hold up to PERIOD. Steve

if you take a dozen carbon arrows, even if advertised +/-.001 and put them on a gauge, and do the same with alum, you will find less variation in the alum....I have spent many hours spinning arrows, this is my findings....I guess your mileage may very.......I was just stating my findings...just for smiles I would like to see a link to a carbon arrow that is straighter than a XX78 super slam... good luck and good shooting Last edited by Chromie; 10-08-2009 at 02:02 AM. | |

ok, you ask for it. just as straight but better weight tolerance. Easton XX78 Super Slam straightness +/- .001" Weight tolerance +/- 1.0% Gold Tip Pro Hunter straightness +/- .001" Weight tolerance +/- 0.5% Gold Tip Arrows - The Toughest Arrow You'll Ever Shoot Easton Archery | Prod and by the way, I like the Hostage style rests. NAP makes a similar one that is excellent at less money. http://www.shopatron.com/products/pr...29781.0.0.0.0?

those look like some pretty dang good arrows, and I would be temped to give them a try...but the statement I made was about straightness, and a link to a straighter arrow, and those are no straighter....I do agree that carbon is superior, in toughness, weight tolerance, and accessibility. Look guys I'm not trying to tell anyone what to do or to shoot, I just stated the facts, I don't make a habit of spouting off at the mouth with no info. get your gauge out and see for yourselves. No matter what, the deer or any other game for that matter, don't care if your broadhead of choice blasts through them in front of a carbon or alum arrow. Shoot what works for you. good luck and good hunting.... |

I'm still shooting aluminums too, so your not the only one. I just hate messing with a great shooting setup. (I got 3 dozen carbons in the closet unused) besides, I think all of the records are still held by aluminums last I checked.

| I'm glad they work for you, I shoot Easton A/C/C for 3D, and Easton ST Excel for hunting. I hunt with what ever I get a good deal on when it comes time for more arrows, 2 years ago it was xx78's, a couple years before that it was Gold Tip XT hunters...I have been able to hit a tennis ball at 30 yards with most any arrow, and a good broadhead..
