wish I still had the rage that failed me, you would be amazed at how it failed and almost completely fell apart. I also got the same answer from the factory and I told them not to waste their time sending me more, once a piece of crap always a piece of crap.. Like I said, sometimes technology sucks....... Stick with tried and true...

I don't have a lot of money so I have get cheaper broadheads and I think they work better than these $40 dollars ones!

Looks like the same problem I had with the blades, my cut on contact tip was bent over and the slot where it is affixed was broken also. looks like decent blood, maybe a bit on the red side for a lung hit, lung hits usually have a pinkish color with bubbles...

sorry you lost your deer. I too have tried mechanical broad heads and found them to be un reliable killers. I have several new packs of various mfg. that are now in the yard sale box. I hate loosing a game animal and now stick with the tried and true preformers.

Maybe you'd have better luck with a 7.62x54R 180Gr SP round.

People make mistakes, just like animals do. I saw a television program on lions in the wild. In Indiana you can't hunt hunt deer with high power rifle.

I only hunt deer with bow and muzzleloader.

I have a Winchester 70 in .308 Win and a Weatherby Vanguard in .300 Wby. Mag. that one day I hope I can use for deer in another state.

That is insane! You guys don't have room to shoot in Indiana? I find that hard to believe. You want to hear something just as assinine? In my state, you can't hunt deer with buckshot, b-u-c-k-s-h-o-t, BUCK-SHOT! It's called that for a reason you know! You have to use a slug.

Anything mechanical is prone to failure.

mechanical broadheads have been on the market for a long time, and they work well when the work, but when they fail, they fail miserably.

I've buried 100 gr. Thunderheads into a spine, and played hell getting it back out. all blades were beat up bad but still intact.

I'll stick with what works.....

huh...

first off, sorry about your deer man, had a similar thing with a BEAUTIFUL buck - just like in field and stream- broadside, looking up to sniff my scent stick, beautiful shot -

fully bloodied arrow, went to find him, blood trail went dry, searched for 3 days and nothing.

as far as broadheads, i was using a crossbow and my bolt had a Muzzy 100gr 4 blade on it - they have served my needs quite well.

Since I don't have a lot of money and I had some rage left over, I went out again and this time the broadhead did it's job just fine, the buck just ran 35-40 before he colapsed.

I use Thunder Heads also and have never had one fail, even after hitting bone. Then again, that's all I've ever used and I stick with them.

It just seems like a lot of the mechanical heads add 'one more thing' that can mess up. I mean, Native Americans used rock arrow heads, seem to work just fine!
