I love my Browning firearms. I was searching for a new gold or silver and came upon info that as far as name goes took me to another brand name. The Winchester SX3. It is the same gun (made in Belgium) as the Browning Silver. When I signed up for warranty it was at the Browning website. I paid $723 for it at buds gun shop. I have compared it to a Rem. 1187 20ga and found that mine a 12ga. shot softer. I have also compared it to a Rem. 1100 ,Bakail 153 ,and a Stoger 2000 and found them all lacking. I hated (and might regret) not going with a Browning. If I needed to sell I am sure resell is not as strong. But I think as far as quality ,function and looks go this is a really good deal and you are still supporting Browning as a company. The Buckmark tatoo on my left arm might have burnt a little when I did it though. I bought it after finding out that the new auto five was not going to be anywhere close to the old design.(It might be a good gun but why change perfection?) I think my anger at that is what pushed me over the edge when considering the SX3. I am very happy with it and considering the direction Browning went with the new A-5 I am keeping my old trusted Brownings close.
Don't b e ashamed at all. I have had the Winchester SX2 since 2004 and it has been nothing but good. You are correct FN Belgium made. The Sx2 is the same platform as the FN SLP. These are tough guns that will go the extra mile.
