Yeah, I am doing fine. She got caught for the 4th time having an internet and phone romance in the past 2 years. This time, with her former fiance. When confronted, she left and went to live with him. Oh, well.

Geez, seems there are unfaithful on both sides of the gender line ain't there? Believe me you'll find someone who is really meant for you, took me almost 25 years before I finally got it right after being miserable in an 18 marriage where I never was sure she was faithful. Good luck to you Sir!

Great Target Pistol

I have the Buckmark Standard, URX, 5.5". It is without a doubt the best shooting (accuracy wise) pistol I have. (semi-auto) I did have the opportunity to also fire the Ruger prior to buying it. Man...was I glad I had the chance to fire the Buckmark prior to sealing the deal. Also, the Browning is so much easier to clean/fieldstrip than is the Ruger. As with any small calibre semi-auto, they are choosie about which manufacture of ammo you feed them. This varies between pistols of the same make, model etc etc. Summary: The Buckmark is simply outstanding!!

Troy, I'm sorry to hear that. Things will get better in time so just hang in there. Spend a lot of time shooting.

I missed hearing about that when it happened, Troy. You have my sympathy, if that's worth anything from someone who's knocked heads with you so often. I can't claim my situation is a whole lot better, but at least my rivals are World of Warcraft and Age of Empires, instead of an ex-fiance.

Browning Buckmark!!!

The Browning Buckmark is an integral part of the Browning brand. Over the years it has become deeply rooted in Browning culture, being displayed not only on Browning products, but by Browning enthusiasts on trucks, equipment, ATVs, airplanes – just about any place you can think of – as a personal show of brand loyalty. But it wasn’t always that way. In the history of Browning, the Buckmark is a fairly recent addition. The Buckmark logo was designed in the fall of 1977 by then Browning art director Don Bailey and was introduced in Browning literature and advertising in 1978 during the Browning Centennial celebration.

It is always nice to get a new gun. Congratulations Troy. Browning makes a nice product and I hope you get years of enjoyment out of yours. I own a Buckmark bull barrel rifle. Had my gunsmith slick it up tune the gun. Shoot it in our Wednesday night get togethers at the range. We consist of old retired military and law enforcement fogies, since all of us are in our sixties or older. They all like my gun and plan on buying one for the matches. Very handy little carbines and could double for a force multiplier in an emergency. You did good with your purchase. New to this site and really enjoying the fellowship of all of you fine gentlemen. Take care.

3 buckmarks

So, What ammo works without fail in these things? (federal does not). I have one and wife has two. Wife has the traditional with wood grids and slab side barrel. Along with the Buckmark rifle (vermonator) very nice.
I on the other hand have the 7.25 ribbed target barrel in matt black. Still shoots very well after 8 months under slimy water. (funny stories).

However we are having some trouble with ammo not going off with any reliabilty. Any Ideas?

I have only had my(wife’s) BM for 11/2 months
It is the camper SS URX MS model. I liked the fiber optics on standers camper. I found some Hi-Viz at Sportsman’s for 32.00 with 6 tubes and was a direct replacement for the front sight.

I am using Remington thunder bolt, and Federal VP without any trouble with the exception of a FTFire and then If I want to put it back in it will fire ok the second time.
I also use them in my Neos. I just bought some Remington 550 and have used them in the Neos but not the BM. I have only shot 150 of the rem in the Neos with not trouble.

Since I can shoot the cheap stuff I have not tried the expensive stuff.

First Buckmark

I got my first Browning Buckmark a week ago after much research. Could not find one locally to try, so went with info found in forums. Love shooting it, and have about 200 rounds now. The grip angle is a great match for my Colt M1911. The wood grip on the "Plus" model are nice, and the sights are great.

The comments about the sight screws have been interesting. On mine, during its first cleaning, I tried to remove the rear sight bar to get to the feed ramp cleanly, and the rearmost one was over-torqued and broke the cheap Allen wrench off. Now I have to find either a good gunsmith or fine machinist to get the damned thing off! The a better quality Allen wrench.

Cheers!

In the UK we use a converted Buckmark rifle as a non-handgun Pistol to get round the handgun ban. They are probably the most common long-barrelled pistol in use in the UK.
Here's mine, slightly modified with a Thompson adjustable rearsight fitted.

And beside it's big Brother the Taurus 66.

And what it can do at 25m

+1 Steve, I've got a stainless 5.5" Buckmark I've had for about 15 years and I wouldn't trade it for 5 Rugers if I had to keep em. The Ruger is a good gun but not as good as the Buckmark IMO.

I hate my 5.5" Stainless Buckmark. I try to miss targets, but it keeps hitting them
