Comming from an 870 Wingmaster fan, mind you. It is one of the best quality built pump actions on the market. Browning hasn't gone the route of cheapening the gun as Remington did with the 870 (Express)

The gun is ambidextrious with the top safety and bottom eject. Works great in a goose pit (no empty's flying past the shooter next to you) Looks great, balances well. Most importantly, Browning backs up thier product.

No never. Unless something specific is broken which could happen to any gun. I have actually locked up my 870 by short shucking under the pressure of killer ducks bombarding the decoys.

I’m looking to get a 12 gauge 3 1/2 inch chamber. So you have heard that for all gauges and chamber sizes don’t lock up either. Do you know the price range of a 12 gauge 3 1/2 inch chamber for the browning BPS?

Thanks

I've had a couple BPS's and they're great guns, but..

I have one complaint with Browning blued guns.. They're the first one to rust on you. I don't know if the bluing isn't on par with other guns, or what the issue is, but if you don't take absolute care with them, they'll be the first gun to get speckles of rust..

I've bought several Brownings over the years with this issue. I recently bought a bunch of guns from a co-worker who wasn't interested in shooting anymore. Of the bunch, there was a Browning Auto .22, new in the box, and a BLR 30-06. Both had rust while none of the other guns, stored the same way, had any rust.

The BLR had speckling on the reciever, and the .22 auto rusted on the barrel in three spots..

Granted, there's no excuse for poor storage and care of a gun, but the crappy Marlin Bolt Action .410 didn't rust, while the expensive BLR did..

They're a fine quality weapon, and they're built great, but I always go the extra mile when cleaning and storing a Browning..
