Stuipdly efficient

Well, after many many rounds through my Browning BPS pump shotgun 12 ga with the duratouch armor, I decided to clean it- smart right? Well I also have a Remington 870 marine magnum 12 gauge, and just like have done in the past with my Remington, I took the action apart on my Browning- not smart. After quite a few hours fiddling around with the gun, I finally managed to get it back together and it worked good for a few pumps (I didn't fire it, nor did I put any loads into the gun to see how it worked with ammunition) but today when I was going to finish the cleaning, I pumped the fore stock back and the darn thing was tough, so I pushed the action to close, and it jammed. I will easily be able to take it apart again. But If anyone has any tips or even diagrams (the browning booklet that came with the gun doesn't cover what I have done) of how to put it together correctly that would be great. Thank you very much.

ps: on a very late note I asked about which rifle to buy quite a while back, I bought the Sako 85 Finnlight with the Bushnell Elite 6500 50mm with mil dots, and a rock mount 9" bipod. and i love it

If you will contact Browning they have recommended

gunsmiths as you now know they do not exactly design for
disassembly by the owner. But you are not the first person to
have this experience and you will not be the last. So, just take it
as a learning event.

You may have put the cartridge stops back in upside down or on the wrong side. They have to be on the proper side and in the proper way. Look below at part #'s 16 and 17..I only suggest you look at these parts because I did it to my Mossberg model 500 and it did the same thing you explained. Start there anyhow?

Thanks guys, I have the gun working perfectly now I was close, but I put part 15 under part 13 where it angles back down at the back of the guide arms; when it was supposed to fit in between the guide arms. But it was a good lesson learned. Thanks again for the diagram.

just use foam

Not trying to start a argument here. Next time just use a quality foam cleaner. Spray the foam in the chamber ( I do it with the barrel unattached ) wait a while and wipe out or use an air compreesor to blow out the grim. I took my BPS apart once. To paint it. Really its not necessary every cleaning. It is after all a pump shotgun not an automatic. The owners manual actually says there is no need to disassemble the action unless it needs service. Its a BROWNING PUMP. It will work no matter how dirty it gets. I still clean the barrel every time I use it though.
