| I think a blueing job is a blueing job. I'd find a local gunsmith that does general reblueing. If he doesn't know how to take it apart or is able to read instructions then he probably shouldn't be a gunsmith. As far as rebarreling, you can find standard, threaded, and ported barrels from FAC for the Browning Hi Power 9mm.

| no a bluing job isnt a bluing job, it takes a lot of prep work and the proper application to get a hi quality bluing. as far as rebarreling i would talk to either don williams of the action works(very nice guy), or ted yost- its my understanding these guys are both masters with the hi power and would probably fit a new barrel for you-a barsto perhaps-please dont cheap out on your barrel, you will get much better accuracy and reliability out of a properly fit barrel than you will get with a cheap one size fits all piece of tubing. oh im sure that don or ted could recomend somebody to do a quality blue job.:target: Last edited by lefty o; 09-30-2002 at 10:52 AM. |

| Sorry for my presumption of ease, I assumed that the skills used by gunmiths would easily transfer between different guns.

| gunsmiths skills do transfer between guns, but all gunsmiths are not created equally-especially when it comes to finishes. there are smiths that can polish a turd and make it look great, and someguys can make a nice looking gun into a turd. |
