| Help Identify rifle please
Hey, sorry if this is the wrong place to ask but I was wondering if anyone can help me identify a Browning rifle. It's a Browning lever action .22 rifle. on the top of the barrel it says "Browning Arms Company StLouis Mo. & Montreal P.O", under that "Made in Japan". On the side of the barrel it says ".22 Short, Long, & Long Rifle". Serial num 69B11XXX. Has a Redfield 4x scope on it. On the other side of the barrel it says "Patent Pending". I got it from a older woman whose husband was a gun enthusiast and had many custom made guns so I'm guessing this could be some obscure one. I'm going on my first hunting trip soon and I will be taking this to the shooting range this saturday but do not want to shoot it before I know nothing about it also since it has never been used. Here's some pics, any help or tips is appreciated. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Looks like a BL-22 grade 1 made from 1970 to 2003 They are worth from 375 for a 100% to 140 for a 60% not counting scope.

| wow thanks a lot, looked up that model and matches mine exactly. Also wondering what should I put on the Bill of sale? should it be something like "Browning .22 Long Gun lever action rifle?", or just save some of that plus the s/n for the description? Also are bills of sale valid for 0$? It was a gift but just want some form of legal paperwork, especially cause I'm up in NY. Thanks again.

Hey glad to do it put on the bill of sale model BL-22 and the serial number and Browning 22 lever action. You can never have to much info in NY. As to the legal part I know nothing ( as SSG. Schultz used to say)

| yeah my first time shooting a handgun, well any real gun for that matter was about 3 weeks ago at a shooting range in the poconos, PA. I shot a .40 glock, a .38 revolver and a desert eagle. I've read that it's good to start with a revolver first to practice your aim and such so I was thinking maybe a .22 revolver first? Then I'll prob move on to a compact since I'm a smaller guy. If you're ever in the Pa area I would definitely recommend Sunset Hill shooting Range. Going back again this Saturday, can't wait to shoot the M1 Garand again.
