ive never bought any weaqpon without at least seeing the exact one i was getting, until this week...bought a rom-psl online sight unseen! it got here and i couldnt be happier with it! just posted pics on the mosin forum. i was gonna post them in the ak forum, but when i posted the original post about it in the powder keg the moderator threw it to the mosin forum so thats where i put the pics.
whelp, I don't kow if it's state specific or not but I don't know how any gun manufacturer sells anything because I can hardly never see anyithing I think I might want to buy. It's like they are sitting around with their fingers up their butts wondering why sales are slow? If I could fondle first I'd own more guns than I do now. I know, isn't that just wonderful? A gun nut with one more gun. Ha!
BTW, WHO PUT THAT AD ON MY POST? WHOEVER IT WAS GET IT OFF!
I'm not sure it is a problem with the manufacturers. I'm sure they would love to stack their dealer's shelves with lots and lots of their products. It is the individual dealers who have to decide what, and how much, stock to put on their shelves. They can't stock everything. They are also running a business and are very interested in what will make them a profit. They can order something for you but might not want to do that unless you are committing to buy the gun. Which leads to your very understandable desire to handle the gun before plunking down your money for it. Leads to a stand off, doesn't it?
I am, and it has. You are so right. I just figured at least since the shops can't stock everything that the manufacturer could at least refer me to a shop within say even as much as 200 miles from me, they would. But they, Savage, say they can't. They don't know where anything is. With computers I'd figure I should be able to find one somewhere to see? Regards, Sardine.
I was "wondering", how long this thread went.
Before this comment, was made!

It showed about 12 stores within 60 miles of Newark (just up the road from you). You'd have to call each store yourself and see what they have.
Can't refer you to a shop? Or unwilling to have you show up at one of their dealers who doesn't have what you want and starting with "but Savage says you do too have one..."
Anyway, in looking that up I read up on the rifle in question, pretty cool and I ran into several good reviews of it.
As to the other direction of this thread, I'm newly married but knew darn well what I was buying....
