I had an idea this evening. I enjoy going for late night runs after I finish the night shift at work. I conceal an LC9 IWB when I run at night. It works but it gets very uncomfortable after the first mile or so. Tomorrow I'm going to play around with making a concealment holster out of an old nalgene water bottle. The idea is that I can hold the water bottle with the pistol hidden inside while I run. Access would be by a slot in the side of bottom of the bottle. What are yall's thoughts on this idea?
10/22fan38: Sir, this will be interesting. Many walkers wear minimal clothing too.
On hikes I've messed about with fanny packs and such. Sweating mixed these aren't comfortable.

Never tried it so I don't really know - but what about one of those arm bands they use for radios and such?
Seems like one of those could be modified to hold an LC9 and it might be more convenient than grasping a water bottle continuously.
The pistol seems too heavy for just about every kind of concealment you could possibly use while running. You could look at a .380 or .32 ACP instead. They're smaller, thinner, and lighter.
maybe you could take a nalgene or similar bottle, with a waist strap that would hold the bottle horizantally (sideways), in your lower back, and have the end of it cut out so that you can just reach back and stick your hand in there and pull it out.
The Kel Tec PF-9 is easy, and comfortable to wear in an IWB while I am riding my road bike at 30+ MPH and really grinding away. I don't do much running, but the bit I have jogged with it hasn't been too uncomfortable.

Either a north American arms piece.....size of your palm....or a max expedition style bag....that straps on with a water bottle holder as well.
I'm looking for something similar, and I think the bag is a better idea....since it can hold ID...and I can carry a full size...but I'll prolly carry my subcompact
I picked up a fiberglass kit today and started working on a mold for the holster going into the bottle. I think I'm going to make this thing happen! I don't really want to carry anything smaller than my lc9.
