Ah me the perennial and ever asked "What tis the bestest weapon, caliber, make model firearm for __________" Truth be told after carrying and using a M1911A1 for over 20 years and competing with it I have the answer for that question... Whatever Firearm that you have the confidence and proficiency to employ effectively under high stress, in whatever caliber you are most capable with. My personal choice of course is a M1911A1, that being said if it's hot or I am in a situation which precludes effective concealment of my War Horse I am not adverse to tucking my High Power deep into a waist band. 9mm isn't a too bad trade off most times.

I thought it went something like this:

**Note: No offense to women or pansies.**

I've never shot a .40S&W, so I can't rule that out. But I have shot both the 9mm and .45acp, and I feel so much more confident with a .45, but that's just my opinion.

Good tip. I had one gun I carry when I'm in my car anda different one when I'm on my motorcycle. Maybe I need to pick just one and get familiar?

Exactly. Like troy said:

I will take a hit with a .22 over a miss with a .45 any day.

Ruger Redhawk .44 with Simmons 2-6x32 scope

its in a bag, the scope makes it quite large as you can see, and if things are escalating... i'm a fairly perceptive person, i know when to walk away. you need to avoid what you can anyhow. otherwise, anywhere i can carry a concealed weapon, i can carry the bag. one bang from a magnum and i would imagine most, including myself in the opposing perspective, would rather not be involved in a shootout(imagine a gangbanger with his mag fed 9mm popopopop hearing a retaliating BOOM.BOOM.BOOM from a .44 magnum)... did you know fear is more closely related to hearing than any of the other senses? not that sight doesn't perplex people enough when i pull out my baby, and i'm much more likely to hit a target hiding behind something, or if i need to, take out some crazy shooter from a distance. do you carry you .38 snub into the mall? well, you shouldn't. be aware of your surroundings and use you intelligence before your bravado. guns are for when there's NOT another answer.

i'd rather hit them once with a .44 than than twice with a .22
