| CZ82 vs TT33 If you could only have one, which one would you choose for CCW/home defense and why? Looking to get a C&R handgun once I get my license and wanted some opinions on these two. |

| I have the CZ82 and I'll have to look up the TT33 to see what it is. To me the CZ 82 is a tad on the heavy side and by looking at it before handleing it you would'nt think so. The grip area is a little wide for this size pistol but it's not any wider than my son's 2 Glocks, this makes for a sweet controlable semi-auto pistol, it is a joy to shoot. It's down right a pleasure to shoot !!! Mine has had 3 types of ammo shot through it with out any problem what so ever, it begs to be shot I swear !!! A lot of thought needs to go into a holster design depending on your sature meaning slim and trim people like my son wouldn't have any problem concealing the CZ 82 because shirts are looser on these builds. Folks built like me that are stocky with a slight inner tube gut (I said slight) will find it harder to conceal, but it's the same way with Glocks, 1911's and the like. After fireing a lot of ammo through mine I feel we don't give the 9 X 18 Mak cartridge the credit it's due. It's seems to be a pretty Hot and Potent cartridge if you could see some of the stuff I shot and destroyed you would agree. Ammo is abundent in 9 X 18 Mak. but depending on where you live you may have to order the stuff like I do and prices range from Low to High. It's definitly a great conceal carry pistol, it will hold a total of 13 rounds that's enough ammo ain't it to get the job...A.H Last edited by ArkansasHunter; 12-13-2007 at 12:37 PM. |

| I agree with AH. I have a safe full of pistols and the cz 82 has become my ""everyday" carry gun.

| CZ-82, hands down. You can get Hollow-point ammo for self-defense/carry in 9x18 Makarov, but such can't be said for 7.62x25 Tokarev. Penetration may not be enough for the JHP ammo on the 9mm Mak, though. 9mm is also about as small as I'd be willing to suggest going for a self-defense firearm. Sure, 7.62x25 is a "big penetrator" and can defeat kevlar soft armor, but it's not going to make a decently big hole, which is what you're trying to do with a defense round. Bigger hole/cavity = quicker stopping of attacker.
