i agree with NRA JOE , easy to stick in small nooks in the truck , and shooting a 12 ga pump pistol grip is easy for me and i am a 5-10 185 pound guy , med hands , its not the funnest gun to shoot but i keep one under my bed and i will make sure you dont think its fun to be at the oppisite end.

| In Arkansas if some one breaks into your car/truck and steals your gun you've only lost your gun and the same is true if your vehicle is stolen even if it has a gun in it. If your gun is recovered it will be returned to you. It could be kept for evidence and returned after the court is done with it...A.H |

| Thanks Cyrano, that's my little 8 month old female Eden. Ok so it makes sense what you've said. A person would be a fool not to report a stolen automobile or gun for that matter immediately upon finding out it/they had been stolen. That is the important part of what I didn't know/understand and wanted to know if it happened and if it was reported promptly would that keep us from being held responsible. It's scary to think that our gun/guns could be stolen and then we would be held responsible for a murder from that gun when we don't have control of it any longer. Thanks for your input and also good idea about taking pictures of the gun with the serial numbers etc. I also already have info on it in a safe place but carrying it on a trip is definitely something I hadn't thought of that is important. | I bought a Mosin for the purpose of having it in my truck not for self defense but if I were to see a target of oppurtunity (coyote) and didn't have any of my rifles with me. When I moved from Reno to Las Vegas I took it out and glad I did becuase the truck was stolen a short time after moving. Las Vegas happens to have the highest auto theft rate in the US. With that said if your state allows for ccw then I would take the necessary courses and apply for your permit and carry a pistol on your person. A weapon in the trunk of your car will do you no good in most situations because they happen in an instant. The time it would take you to access your trunk and get the firearm you could have driven many blocks. I would suggest getting pepper spray and carry it in the console or mount it in an easy to reach spot so in that instant someone surprises you, you can reach for it spray them and high tail it out of the area and call the police. If you were to get out of your car open your trunk and then shoot someone you would goto jail for a very long time as it would be murder and not self defense. Scott |

They do graciously concede that a gun carried openly in a belt holster isn't considered to be concealed. I have a small keyed safe, padded inside, that I keep my handguns in when I'm transporting them. I bolt it into my Jeep, and stick it behind the seat in my pickup.
