State laws are ridiculous

So, my state, MO, which I live in, about 6 blocks from state line in Midtown KC, MO, I can't carry if I get my CCW in Kansas. Seriously, what the heck is up with that?

So, I either have to make a decision. Use my parents address and get a KS conceal and carry, or use my personal address and get one for MO. I mean, I would get it in MO first over anything else, but still the fact that I live 6 blocks from state line kind of makes me mad.

Quote:
Permits that Missouri honors: * **

The Missouri permit is honored in 27 states. This number increased 30% from June to August 2006 based on the efforts of the GCLA board of directors and MissouriCarry.com members in actively promoting the MO permit directly with pther states and essentially backing the MO AG's office in to a corner where they now are actively pursuing every state possible.

Today the MO permit is legal to use in:* **

ALABAMA
ARKANSAS
ALASKA
ARIZONA
COLORADO
DELAWARE
FLORIDA
GEORGIA
IDAHO
INDIANA
KENTUCKY
LOUISIANA
MICHIGAN
MONTANA
NORTH CAROLINA
NORTH DAKOTA
NEW HAMPSHIRE
NEW MEXICO
OHIO
OKLAHOMA
PENNSLYVANIA
SOUTH DAKOTA
TENNESSEE
TEXAS
UTAH
VIRGINIA
VERMONT

The ones listed in BOLD are a direct result of hard work by everyday people in the MissouriCarry.com CCW online community.

If you live in another state and possess a CCW permit, you can legally carry a firearm in Missouri. Please take note of the listed areas off limits to permit holders.

* Every states law is different. It's up to every individual to check up on his or her's own situation when complying with the law. Please check with your states law office to make sure you understand how that states reciprocity law works.

Yep, it's pretty screwed up for some of the discretionary "carry" states--KS GOV is a democrat, so maybe that's why she's pro gun control and no non-resident licenses...She also is notorious for blocking power plants, thus hiking energy rates for her "subjects" and blocking and new energy sources--go figure--typical Dem. ! I believe it should be shall issue in ALL states !!!. I'd suggest you get your MO CCW, and apply for a PA non-resident license after this (Centre county Sheriff is great and very pro gun -- check out the website. Based on you MO CCW, for $26 you'll also get a PA CCW with 3 weeks mailbox to mailbox--great customer service). You also may want to appy for FL CCW for max reciprocity.

wow im suprised ohio will let you get it in another state and use it here, we got some messed up gun laws. but as for your situation that would make me mad as well, are you back and forth between states alot? if not i would just get it in the state you spend most of your time in.

I think that info is old, now that I posted that other link it lists KS as a state that honors the CCW. KS let their citizens CCW before MO did, which is why I was finding it so odd.

My family lives on the KS side so I am over there sometimes, but I mostly reside on the MO side.

I suppose getting the Utah license which is also good in 27 states, wouldn't be any different/better than the Mo. one?
