| Senior Member | Charles Daly Mauser.
I came across a C.D. Mauser in .30-06 in a gun shop the other day. It's a field grade in a black synthetic stock and was priced at $460. It's a new rifle they have had for a while and I liked the looks of it. The bolt seemed a little stiff when I opened it but would probably smooth out with use. Anyone have any experience or opinions?

I don't have any experience but I've heard they are good and solid. Most anything with a Mauser type action is good.

| When I was young Sears had the Charles Daly
name on a wide range of outdoor gear along with a picture of a tanned, silver haired, grandfatherly type man supposedly Charles Daly. I have seen the Charles Daly name come and go from the marketplace several times in my lifetime on products ranging from higher quality to not so high quality. I do not know at present who either ownes or licenses the Charles Daly name. Pretty much I feel it is up to the buyer to decide if the product bearing the Charles Daly name is good or not. Personally, I cannot state I feel the name has any particular value. |

I will have to keep an eye on this post as I picked up a NIB CD chambered in 26-06 today. I have to figure out which bases to use, mount a scope and test it out.

I'm told the C.D Mausers are built on Yugo actions. I should probably get it because I need a good hunting rifle.
