big 5 inland carbines

just so everyone knows big 5 is offering inland carbines for 499. Now--look them over very well, Ive heard cmp is out of inlands because big 5 cornered the market and supply--look them over well and be aware of what you are looking at-big 5 sporting goods there may be one near you ---but be aware of quality , there are some good ones-just what ive seen---7mm

Where at? The Big 5 near me has them "on sale" for $999.

For collecting maybe, as a hunting or self defense gun I'd pass.

The one near me has them for $450. I'm considering buying one, but I don't like the looks of the stocks and bores. I think I'm going to wait till they get a few nice ones in.

I was surprised to see it though lol.

What big 5 has has little to do with CMP, or the CMP running out of carbines. The carbines the CMP is getting are returned military loaners to other countries. The stuff big 5 has is imported crap that CMP doesn't want, they are imported from Century arms. They also have import marks, and from everything I've heard on half a dozen forums are usually pretty crappy. Most of the one I've heard about are 999 bucks, which is ridiculously overpriced.

Go with the CMP, they still have some makers and grades left.

sorry 22 guy thats not from my sources at cmp--what ever-- just inspect the rifles --most seem ok
