I was a "wing nut," "airdale," "brown shoe" (if I made chief). Now within the avaition maintenance community, "tweet." I was a calibration tech (TMDE for you Army guys) and still doing that now as a civilian. I started taking up my shootin' hobby again. I have a brand new unissued government M9, and a little Polish P-64. Yes, I have my CCW as well.

Ret Sailor - I wasn't sure whether the wings were aviation or something else. So many changes since I got out in 68. Course the same thing between 58 & I went back in 64. I could no longer wear my old crew wings as they had been designated combat wings and the gold ones had replaced them. I was an AMH, finally changed to AO since I flew the Ordnance position on P2Vs. 9 yrs, 6+ on flying status. Snowman - maby if you're paying for the ammo! big V - Dragon man is about 40 min from my house. If Mel owes you a favor, why "rent" the range? Sarge

I'd like to meet y'all, but I ain't goin' anywhere near D'Man's. Long story best left untold. Maybe I could arrange something at Ben Lomond Gun Club, we could say you're all "prospective members" that want to check it out. Quote:

Anyone who deals with Bernstein long enough gets burned. I haven't been out there in years either. I like the idea of hitting up the Lomond range though!

I looked on the Lomond site but didn't find anything about targets. Do they require you to use a wood framed paper target setup, or can you bring out steel?

As far as steel, I've seen steel plates on one of the 100 yard ranges, and on the 600 yard range, and there's steel silhouettes on the .22 range. I'm sure that common sense is the major governing factor regarding ANY targets. I set my targets up as close to the berms as I can get them, and then back the benches off to the distance I want to shoot at. I want my bullets to hit the dirt as soon as possible. I've heard too many others whizzing off into space from other ranges.
