| Senior Member | High Power equipment Here is a plug for a fellow gun club member and machinist. http://www.giraudtool.com/index.htm I have one of his scope stands. Sure beats the price of those fancy storebought ones. Had a front heavy scope which he made a custom 3 postion bracket for. 3 screwed-together-post works great in Off-Hand even for my 6'4" frame. He also makes a clip board and 22 round holder so ya don't have to fiddlefart around with ammo and recording scores. A well thought out contraption. Recently I trimmed, deburred and chamfered 300 rounds of 223 by hand and almost lost my freekin mind. His case timmer is a "10" on the "coolfactor". It's a bit pricey but for the serious shooter, check and see. fmj

| Senior Member | Full MeTal Jack - Thanks for the link. This looks like a place I will recommend, which I usually do not do, except when I have bought and used the items for sale. I do have a good stand, but if I become an active competition shooter, AGAIN, I will probably get the scope stand. The Scope Stand is about what I recommend for serious shooters, and the Deluxe Package is the only one to consider. For a few dollars more, you get items that would add a lot of dollars if you purchase separately. He does sell a spike for the scope stand, and at some ranges it is fine, but it can't always be used. I like the fact that the legs fold up along side the tube, and it will allow the scope to be set almost to the ground for prone shooting {this is an outstanding feature!} . As you said, a bit pricey, but then the really good things are seldom cheap. When you have good quality stuff, you do not have to apologize, especially to yourself! THANKS AGAIN! |
