| Senior Member ![]() | target 22 rifle idea I'm thinking of building a costome target rifle based off the Kimber Model 82 Government and thus far I am thinking of using an Anshutz 2013 heavy match barrel, anshutz sights, wather 2 stage trigger, and a custom mcmillan tactical stock. Any suggestons?

| what kind of comp do you want to do is the big thing .. if you want to bench or silouhette or 4 posistion.... go to the the n.r.a. site and they will say what your rifle can and can not have... i know that in sil. shoots there are 2 classes.. a std bdl. and a sproter bdl... if you have a sported bdl. you can shoot both classe with it ...... just something to think about when building a rifle ... |

| for the money, i would probably just look for a used anshutz. by the time you do what you want to a kimber, you will have a small bank roll invested and may still not have a competetive rifle. |

| my thing with 22's is BR guns, not silhouette or position rifles. i have learned that it is more often than not cost effective to piece together a rifle. a 22lr BR gun will cost from 2-4000$$$$$ depending on the action, barrel, and gunsmith. not just any gunsmith has the talent to build a competetive rifle. those that can command top $$$. the best way to get into any kind of rimfire competition is to buy a used competetive gun. |
