I have to compete in officially sanctioned comps to own a hand gun, 6 a year for one type, ( say centrefire ) and 4 a year each for more.

ANYWAY, I did a swag of them last finacial year and left it till the new fiscal year to start my count again, I usually do way more than 6, but I`ve been busy.

So, no time at all spare, I go into the indoor range after work, mildy filthy. No reloads, only a box of 357 wincleans, these things go BANG! compared to my handloads and it`s been 4 months since I`d even held my GP100.

A 6 pack is 6 targets about, oooh, bread and butter plate size. Send `er out to 10 metres ( 33 feet ) and go, 5 shots each. I scored 235 out of 300.

A couple were real good, one had 3 shots touching, 2 had 2, one looked like I`d shot it over my shoulder with a mirror, ugh. I need to make more time ( and more handloads, WinCleans are fun, but tight groups are funner )

I`d do okay if I practiced more, and possibly got shooting specific glasses. I spoke to old mate Kieth while there, he works in the gunshop above the range, and has competed 9 times this month alone. Man is keen, he fires 500 x 9mm a week ( thats WEEK) If it goes bang, Kieth is into it, shoots trap, several pistol disciplines, has rifles he can`t name. He is a devil for tempting you, dangled an SA 1911 9 mm, lordy I`d love one, I might get a package deal with a second hand Single Six... Sigh, maybe this why I`m working 7 days a week.
