The old Vaq's are bigger and beefier than the new ones.

he was asking $650.
i said .

he said how bout $575
i said SOLD!

That's correct Billy, The original Vaqueros are built on a larger frame as were the original BHs. Their frames, are the same, I believe.
Ruger caved in to the CASS, SASS crowd of "gamers" and as a result discontinued the original BHs and Vaqueros in favor of Colt sized frames.

p.s.
i asked him what size belt he wore and he started telling me how adjustable this rig is.
i stopped him and said
what size is your waist?
he goes 31
and you made this belt yourself for your own use?
yes.
i said
im skinny too!
a 31 waist is perfect.
the last new gunbelt i bought had to be a special order because most cowboy shooters are fat.
34 is as small as they go.
he got bit on the trigger finger by a dog and it tore the tendon up so he cant shoot anymore.
is that a kick in the shorts or what?

Billy, $575 for the whole package is a great deal. The gun is easily $500 or so on it's own and the holster, can go for a couple hundred by itself easy. Great find.

CONGRATS!!!

I don't know much about holister prices but that particular Vaquero model 5 1/2 " barrel could be had for a bit more than $400.00 @ the last gun show I attended. So I suppose that with the entire leather rige thrown in $575.00 was a darn good price.
