Thumbs up Day at the range....

What a blast....
I took my SLR 101SG AK-47...
My Beech K31...
And my M44 Lammy Mosin Nagant that I had never fired in 3 yrs of ownership.

The M44 was a blast to shoot with the 46 gr practice ammo I bought a couple months ago...all the flash and bang with only 25% of the recoil !!!

Accurate too! Was busting clay targets at 100 yds!
My only regret was I didn't take more of my Mosins! If I had known that the practice ammo was so much fun I would have made it an all Mosin day. Shot 112 rds of the practice ammo.
Also shot 40 rds of the 147 gr Czech Silvertip which wasn't too bad but not as much fun as the practice stuff...

Shot 60 rds of the Swiss K31 ammo in my Beech K31 which I had also never shot....shot just as accurate as my Walnut K31....lots 'O fun!

My SLR101 SG shot awesome as always.....what can I say...those of you that own one know what I speak of.
Beauty day at the range...nice breeze...low humidity...overcast...watching the Hawks circle....good vacation day! :right:

That gallery ammo is a real hoot! Shooting at my in-laws place last year, I could fire a shot and take off my ear muffs before the sound of the blast faded. Sounds like a fun day for sure! :right:

Our Saturday shoot-em-up usually includes a few Mosins, along with whatever else falls out of the safe. As my younger son said once after listening to the 7.62x54 shots do their "rolling thunder" thing up and down the draws and back and forth between the hills, "you know, Dad, I gotta admit: that sound could get to be addicting."

We sidetracked onto shotguns and a clay thrower for a while this summer, but last time we dragged some Mosins along anyway and shot them first.

I have a couple of old Boito side by side shotguns on the way from Gunbroker.com, so the Mosins may get neglected again for a little while. But there's no doubt they're our first love, no matter what my nephew says about his Enfields...
