C&r??

What exactly does a C&R license actually allow you to do? Its not a full FFL license right?

It allows you to purchase guns that are classified as Curio and Relic only. You can buy them, but not sell them for a profit. (I think you can sell them, but I would tread very lightly with that). You must keep a log of your guns purchased.

You can also get some dealer discounts on various shooting stuff websites.

I'll try to find a link with more info. It's not a bad deal for 30 bucks.

Fed background check
Local Law Enforcement Officer Endorsement (signed) ie chief of Police.

One of the rules states something like this, " can not (resale) be your main source of income."
YOu do have to keep an A&D Book. Acquisitions and Depositions. ie. transactions. If you despose of a fire arm the recepiant must be able to pass a "yellow " form check.
Know who you are selling or giving to.
I've giving away 4 and sold 2 so far. 4 years license holder.

Keep records in an official A&D book.

You can sell a C&R gun for a profit. I received a clarification letter some time back saying you can.

The BATFE frowns on running a full fledged business on a C&R license.

Ok well i realize the curious and relics license but thats not exactly what i want. I would love to get a C&R as long as i could purchase SKS's to be delivered to me. Is that possible with C&R??

If it takes an FFL License to recive Guns direct i would like to get one of those. I know a few FFL dealers i can go through. How would i be able to obtain an FFL license so i would not have to do this? My own freedom without dependence

Actually at a recent ffl dealers meeting with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, the agent said if the new laws go into effect that allows for punishment for violating rules, with fines instead of pulling licenses, they will be writing $1,000 tickets like crazy to C&R holders buying and selling at gun shows.
Nobody said you can't make a profit on a gun with a c&r, BUT it is a license for collecting, not buying and selling. So if you want to buy SKS's from century and sell them at gunshows...going through the nightmare of getting a REAL Class 01 (like I have) is what you want to do.

Yes, you can get them delivered directly to you.. I tend to buy 2-3 of the guns I want. I keep the best one for my collection and will sell one of the other ones at a later date, sometimes for a profit, to free up funds for another weapon of choice.

I always seem to have a freind that wants one of my "seconds".. I'll pawn it off to them for what I have in it.. They're happy and I've collected the best weapon of the set I purchased.

No, I don't do this all the time, but I was informed by the FFL that selling collected firearms to gather funds to make my collection better is acceptable. I just can't do it as a business. Basically, just don't take advantage of the system, and the system will treat you with some really nice guns, delivered to your door..

You can purchase any gun on the C & R list, and also any gun that you can prove is at least 50 years old.. I love old Mossberg .22's. There's a ton of them that were made until the 50's. Just look at when the guns were manufactured to have proof that the gun's over 50 and you've got a weapon that you can purchase with your C & R!! I've bought a couple Mossberg 151K models this way on GunBroker and Auction Arms..

Just remember, not everyone accepts the 03 license. My local dealer won't take them. Then he has to go through the hassle of showing the FFL why the gun was sold to an 03 holder.. He doesn't want the hassle, so he doesn't do it. His business, and his choice. I just fill out the 4473 and be done with it..
