I pluggted mine from the chamber. I went to the local hardware store and bought a pack of faucet washers of diferent sizes. The screw that comes with the washers will screw right into the end of my cleaning rod. I selected the smallest one and trimed the edge to a bevel to help it start into the chamber. I put heat shrink on the first 4 inches of the cleaning rod and for four inches at the muzzle end. Then I inserted the rod into the muzzle, put the washer on the screw and screwed it onto the rod. I pulled it into the chamber from the muzzle end. I used water to check for leaks, drained the barrel and then put in the soloution, and attached the wires. It bubbled and gurgled and every 10 minutes I checked and replenished the soloution. I used a hypodermic neddle to refill the barrell. I could not believe the crud that came out of that "clean" rifle barrel. The rod was black and the patches were a dark muddy looking brown. This gizmo realy works. | Senior Member | This afternoon I did one of my Mosin Nagants. It is my favorite shooter and I keep it as clean as posiable. The crud that came from that barrell was just as bad as what came from yesterday's Enfield. But it is nice n shiney now! Nick |

| Senior Member | BTW, using corks or rubber stoppers that snuggly fit in the bore and chamber works well. I've had a few times the fluid leaked out around the wrapped electrical tape. It won't with the corks or rubber stoppers. (do keep the tape around the rod within the barrel, like Billy says, so it doesn't touch the bore.)

| Senior Member | As long as it's non-conductive, such as plastic or rubber, then yes. Wood or cork would work well as long as they were dry, but once soaked-through, they will conduct electricity.
