CMP Customer Service

It doesn't get any better!!

When sending in my info to make my first rifle purchase I sent everything under the sun, except for proof of citizenship/place of birth.. Of course I was gathering everything to mail while sitting within 3' of my passport..

After discovering my error after the mail was gone, I contacted CMP customer service, and was quickly replied to by Lynne Williams, the customer care Manager at the CMP South location..

I haven't been so impressed with customer service in a long time. She not only gave me several options to get my passport info to her, she personally informed the others to keep an eye out for my info so that the passport could be matched up with everything else.

That's personal service!!!

So, if you haven't sent info into CMP for a rifle/ammo/anything else, I hope this letter of praise makes you more comfortable with the process...

Even if you're a slight idiot (like me) you have someone on the other side watching your back..

Well Done Lynne and CMP!!

Man... if I wasn't already saving up for an AES-10, I'd be haulin' bottom for one of their Service Grades. *sigh*

ROFL!!!

Yeah, that's why I pulled $305 out of the $400 I had saved-up for the AES-10 and used it to buy two Mosin Nagant 91/59's at Big 5.

I'm going to keep one and sell one. I'm thinking they'll likely go up to around $250 at the gun shows in a month or so and that would mean I payed $55 for a Mosin... out the door.

...at the same time, they're both very pretty....

I know that feeling all too well..
Justification..

I buy more than one with plans of selling..

That's why I have 12 Nagants, 5 SKSs, 3 CZ52s, 5 Mausers, and 6 Mossberg 151K .22's...

The intentions were good..

Paper, have you ever thought of driving to the CMP North Store?

Sure have!!! It's less than 6 hours from me, and I have a buddy who has a Garand and feels we better drive over and buy ammo.

As it is, Lynne said she'd email me when the paperwork arrives down to AL, so I'd know when I'm in the system.

I've driven with 20 miles of both North and South stores, so now I'll have a reason to stop.

I was emailed today to inform me that my paperwork and my passport info were merged into one, and that my paperwork was being processed.

Again, I couldn't ask for better service.

With the prices they have on guns they should have good service.

I guess you haven't priced a M1 Garand or ammo for it lately, huh??

I was trying to say I think their prices are to high. I think all guns are getting to be overpriced, regardless of who is selling them.

I understand, but it's the way of the world. Mil-surp ammo has almost doubled in the last year. I also don't like spending almost $20 to fill my motorcycle..

CMP's prices on M1 Garands are the best to be found, as is their ammo... Yeah, it's too much, but it is what it is, and it's not gonna get better, either.

Your right about one thing, it's not going to get better. I'm 66 and I know it won't get any better in my lifetime,or probably anybody elses either for that matter.
