N.Y. C+R question This question goes out to my fellow New York (poor us) C+R holders: I understand that modern handguns (even if C+R eligible) must be listed on our N.Y. state handgun licenses. If I go to a gunshow and purchase a handgun on my C+R FFL, can I take physical possession of it and then bring to it a regular FFL dealer to do the transfer or do I have to have it shipped directly to the FFL dealer? I'm getting conflicting info on this so any clarification would be appreciated.

In NY you can posses a muzzle loading pistol or cap and ball revolver with out having a permit, however if you have the components, powder caps and bullets you are in violation and does require a permit.

Thanks, but that's not the question I was asking. I have a N.Y. handgun permit and a C+R. In New York, all modern handguns (even if C+R eligible) must be listed on your handgun license. My question is: Can I take possession of a C+R handgun at a gunshow that I purchased on my C+R, and then take it to a regualr FFL dealer to do the transfer OR: do I have to have it shipped directly to the dealer?
