Ranger Arms

I have an old ranger .22 cal. bull barrel rifle that was passed down to me without the magazine. Would like to find a magazine, I believe it was 5 rounds. Would like some information on it also.

I have heard it was used for target practice during WW II or even I, because of the cost or availibility of materials for ammo for issue rifles.

Ranger was a Sears Roebuck trademark. The guns were manufactured by several makers. If you have a model number, you may be able to find it in cross-reference list.

Not sure what you are looking for. Definitely need a model #. Is it a bolt action? Some of the early Ranger rifles were made by Marlin and others. I believe there was a Model 34, 34A, and a 36 and some others later. The 34A was semi-auto, with a open bolt design, which became very unpopular with the BATF, and did not help with the accuracy. The Mod. 36 I believe was a bolt action and the 34A and 36 may have took the same magazine (same as the Marlin 80?) which can be bought at Numrich gun Parts on the net. This is just a little from memory and a lot of skimming the net and Numrich. Thats of course if we aint talking about apples and oranges. Need the old Mod number to make any other stabs at it. Hope this may help you to look in the right direction...
