Doing that backwards doesn't bother me. Everybody knows there ain't no no Mosin Revolver. And you want to see a silenced Nagant?

Or maybe this one.

I've thought about buying a 2nd one to do just that as I wouldn't want to ruin the looks of the one I have. Sunday or Saturday I'll have a report on how it shoots.

Ya'll think? After all, it will never want alimony or child support...hehehehe.

Last time I let my wife fire one of my favorites she didn't put it down until she ran out of ammo and is now telling me I have to buy her one of her own...LOL.

Ya gotta love a woman like that.

Found an excellent video on YouTube outlining how to completely dissemble the Nagant. Had that thing apart in now time at all and it's even easier to put back together. Got the rest of the cosmoline, etc out of it tonight. Will add a bit of oil to those parts that need it tomorrow as it's all outside in my storage bin.

Got brave and took it apart again to do a bit more cleaning and lubing where needed. I do NOT like a dirty firearm.

That would be WAY further than I've ever taken one apart.

LOL! Me too, but I just happened to find an excellent video on YouTube showing step by step how to take it apart and then put it back together. Found a lot of crap that needed to be removed once I had it apart.

As long as she understands that anything can happen once you get inside that gunstore.

But hunnybun, don't you think we could use a 50 cal semi-auto rifle?

Finally got to shoot mine, and am not impressed with it at all. Yes, it's a fun gun to shoot, but, when you have to literally beat the empty casings out of the cylinder, well, that takes a lot of the fun away. It's some what I think is polish ammo and the casings are tapered to hold the bullet in. When fired, the case expands so much there is no easy way to remove the spent casings. Also, I figure it has the hitting power of about a .22 long rifle. Why? Because I shot into a 16oz Sprite bottle filled with water and the slug stayed in the bottle. Torn to pieces but it was there. However, if that round tears up like that in a person, it's going to do some serious tissue/organ damage.

Funny, no ammo I ever fired made for hard extraction. What kind were you using? EDIT:

Sorry, never ever saw any Polish ammo for these.

My bad, it is Russian. Here is the link to it. I know I won't be buying anymore of it, that's for sure. Went through 28 rounds of it and every single one had to be beaten out of the gun.

7.62 Nagant Russian Surplus 108gr FMJ, 14rd Box.

Well, I think I just bought some of that stuff. The only other kind I've ever shot out of it was home made, stuff and the Hotshot that I got my empties to make the home made from. Neither of them jammed up on me and made extraction hard.

Always suspect the ammo first if it's a pistol and you've never shot that caliber before. Try a box of Hotshot or Prvi Partizan before you start hating on the pistol.

Also I hope somebody didn't screw up and give you one with the .32 ACP adaptor cylinder in it by mistake.

Or I hope you don't have a model with the .32 Conversion Cylinder instead of the normal 7.62X25 cylinder. That would make a BIG difference and the empties would be way too tight. Look at this video, he's using the Hotshot ammo I spoke of and the empties almost fall right out.

I've seen the videos and it has the correct cylinder as the cases extend just far enough to for the required seal inside the barrel. I'm sure it's the ammo and not the gun. I have my eye on some commerical ammo instead of the Russian milsurp and once I get that I'll try it again. Otherwise it really sucks having to carry a hammer to unload the empties...LOL

That would be true, but please remember, I've only shot Hotshot and reloads, and have never had hard extraction. The empties have always slid right out like in the last video.. I'm waiting for my Swiss K31 to get back from the gunsmith before my next trip to the range. I'll take the Russian stuff I got with me and we'll see if it happens to me. Anybody else have any troubles with extracting Russian ammo here?

If it's sticky with other ammo, maybe try a light polishing of the chambers?

It's not sticky, it's freaking jammed. cylinders have been cleaned and cleaned and cleaned prior to firing. Been brushed out with a brass cleaning brush and the rounds literally fall out when not fired. When fired they expand so bad they jam. I've compared the fired to unfired and you can see the expansion of the end of the round where it fits into the barrel. When you get the ejection rod all the way to its stop, the round then falls out. As soon as I order some other ammo I'll give it another try, but it's rapidly becoming a display piece never to be fired again. Plus, the round is pretty useless as a self defense round as far as I'm concerned and only good for shooting paper targets, which would be fine if I didn't have to beat the rounds out to unload the thing.
