Talking Took my wife to the gun shop today

Mistake! Tomorrow morning I have to go back and buy another Tokarev so she can have her very own. She had been wanting one ever since she shot mine, but now she REALLY wants one so, out come the debit card..LOL. I'm thinking I'm going to have to start buying ammo for them by the case!

The best deals are on Bulgarian 1950's surplus. It's corrosive, so bring some ammonia spritz with you to the range.

My old girlfriend was not able to rack the slide on the Tok, so we had to get another gun.

It is a tough one to rack and my wife had problems until I showed her how to do it. I don't know if your wife tried this or not, but I'v had to start using the same method due to my arthritis in my hands and fingers becoming worse. But, hold the gun in your right hand (assuming your right handed) by the grip, make sure it's pointing to your left (down range please), then grab the slide with your left hand and simply push to the left with your right hand and at the same time push to the right with your left. Once I showed her that method she promptly went through 70 rounds in no time at all...LOL. I see people all the time using the time honored way of grabbing the slide by the back and pulling it to rack it with just the left hand. This puts a lot of strain on the fingers and wrist of that hand and I just can't grip it hard enough with my thumb anymore.

What, you didn't trade her in for something good?

I can only get away with this stuff because I'm not married.

Fuzzy, she tried that method, still not strong enough in the left hand and it would slip. Their longer fingernails interfere too. As a matter of fact, that is the way, I have always racked.

I offered to buy her a pink gun and she told me in no uncertain terms she would never be seen with a pink gun. If it doesn't look badass she don't want it...LOL.

Hehehe..... same here. Only we single guys can get away with baking gunparts in the oven, or washing in the dish washer..... or sighting in new sights on a twentytwo shooting Colibri rounds indoors........

But having a wife that enjoys shooting is very good! My shooting buddy lost the rights to his .40SW compact pistol when his wife decided it fit her better...... and now she's eyeing his Taurus .44Mag revolver.....
