Dude, in this month I bought:
4 Mosin Nagants
1 Swiss K31
1 Arisawka Type 99
An Old Winchester 95 in 7.62X54R made about 1916
1 Walther P-1 9mm pistol
1 Tokarev TT-33
1 M1 Garand

Is that enough surplus in one month?

Mosin Nagant M27(Finish) 7.62 x 54 Russian 5-shot bolt action rifle. I purchased it for 25.00 to get the rear sight off of it for a friend’s rifle. I topped it with a cheap scope which shot 4” groups at 100 yards. I sporterized it, covered it with camo tape and carried it in my truck.

does this qualify as a greasy beater?

Yep, had him check headspace and make sure it was safe to fire. Then having him redo the finish and the stock. He is also going to fix the safety, which I about needed a pair of pliers to rotate.

I wouldn't refinish it except it already was once, and it's not the original stock, so I can't drop it's value by redoing them.
