| A little new to know the rules Hi to you all from down under. I’m new to your forum and only started reading here tonight. Perhaps you all could point me in the right direction on things. I have a mild interest in the Czech firearms and I’m always looking for different models and information on them. I have a couple in a small collection, and I notice that some of you also have CZ’s. Do you also post here on the Brnos and other makes of the Czech firearms? What is the story on posting photos? Should I put up a few shots of what I have when asking questions and would anyone be interested in seeing the few I have from down under? Many thanks for any help/answers |

| I’ve decided not to bore you all too much by posting all the Czech’s I have but rather to only show some of them as several are similar other than change of calibre etc. I hope to one day to start getting a better collection together. Please excuse the fact that these are such poor photos, as you can see I usually only throw them on the floor and click a shot before putting them away to shoot at a later date. I’ll list the model and calibres under each for anyone that may be interested. I’ll add them a page at a time as they don’t seem to fit on only one page Rimfires first: ![]() I have more of these that span years of production with differences. One even has ![]() Brno model 2. | Now the following are a little more different and are a little more uncommon. What’s the story behind the model two that is engraved. Maybe some of you guys know as I’m still learning all about what the Czech’s made. I certainly have never seen this one before and managed to grab it from Australia. A nice old pecar scope on it too. Hope someone here can fill in the gaps on this one. ![]() Model2 Left side ![]() Model2 Under trigger ![]() Model2 Under mag ![]() Model2 Right side ![]() Model2 Left side name ![]() Model2 Left action2 Now the following are far easier to explain. The 50th anniversary was a model that CZ released only to the Australian and New Zealand market. A total of only 500 were made so they were a little hard to get. They made them to celebrate 50 years of the model two Brno hence they are marked 1955 to 2005. I managed to get mine quite easily as they came into NZ. ![]() ![]() The 70th was a different story. This caused a lot of mystery in that it was referred to as the golden anniversary and was marked in the same way as the 50th with the only exceptions being. Where the first had 50 the second had 70 engraved. Where the 50th was marked 1955 to 2005 the 70th is marked 1936 to 2006. The 70th only went into the US and there were only 70 made. Where the 50th celebrated 50 years of the Brno model 2 through to the CZ 452 the 70th celebrated 70 years of CZ’s. This was far harder to get hold of as none (except mine) has ever made it into NZ and I believe that mine is the only one ever to escape the US. ![]() ![]() The only other difference was that the screws under the action on the 50th are gold and the 70th screws are blued otherwise they are identical twins. |

| Anyone into small guns? Here are some of my Czech handguns. All seem well made. I do have a few others but don’t have photos handy yet ![]() There are the usual CZ 24’s, 27’s 38’s, 45’s, 52’s, 70’s 75’s, 85’s etc Recently added a Kadet ![]() and also the 30th anniversary model 75 which is quite nice and belongs to the set of anniversary models that include the 452 50th and 70th along with the 550 anniversary model ![]() ![]() Then if you like Czech’s that are a little different then does anyone know much about the Pav pistols ![]() Pav Pistols And from here I guess we would have to look toward some of my subs. ![]() CZ 61 (Scorpion) ![]() ZK383 - 9mm ![]() CZ23 - 9mm ![]() CZ24 - 7.65 Then I guess up size things a little with the belt fed 59. ![]() VZ59 - 7.62 And we have to remember that the BREN started life in Brno ![]() Bren MK I - 303 British And then I’ll through in a pic of my 58’s just to finish this section off. ![]() VZ58's - 7.62x39 |

| Of course if you are into guns rather than rifles Brno also had a line of both. There were the shotgun onlys and also a range of combination shotgun and rifles. Here are most of what I have in these. There may be a couple of others hanging around waiting for me yet. ![]() Semi 12 gauge ![]() ZH101 - 12+12 ![]() Brno - 12+12 ![]() ZH103 - 12+12 ![]() SxS - 12+12 ![]() SxS - 16+16 ![]() ZH301 - 12+12 ![]() Mod 3 - 12+222 Rem ![]() ZH304 - 12+7x57R ![]() Mod 2 - 12+5.6x52R ![]() ZH305 - 12+22 Savage |

| I guess you may also know that the Czechs also made a range of centrefire rifles as well. From the Brno and CZ line up come a few of mine. I have several others not in this group an example would be the 465’s you just can’t have only one of these so I have four, like wise there are others that insist you double up on. ![]() ZBK 110 -- .222 Rem ![]() Brno Fox Mod 2 -- .22 Hornet ![]() ZKW 465 -- .22 Hornet ![]() Brno Fox Mod 2 -- .222 Rem ![]() Brno Fox Mod 2 -- .222 Rem ![]() CZ 527 -- .222 Rem ![]() CZ 527 American -- .204 Ruger ![]() CZ 527 Varmint -- .204 Ruger ![]() CZ 527 FS -- 223 ![]() ZKK 601 -- .222 Rem ![]() Brno Fox -- .222 Rem ![]() ZKK 601 -- .223 Rem ![]() ![]() ZKK 601 – 6mm Remington custom ![]() ZKK 601 -- .243 Win ![]() ZKK 600 -- .270 Win ![]() ZG 47 -- .270 Win |

Not all of them and I do have several other makes well but this does start my collection of the Czechs. I only own a couple of CZ 550 rifles (.416 Rigby, .458 Lott) and I love both of them to pieces, they are well made, tough as nails hunting rifles, and I personally find them very appealing to the eye. I will be looking to get one in 9.3x62 Mauser before long. Love the pictures sir, you have a nice battery.

OK... Jeez... what the heck? That's a LOT of guns. You could take two a week to the range and still not get to them all. I mean... wow.

fantastic CZ collection!! about the only CZ that I didn't see there that I know about is the CZ 82 pistol. are the sub guns live? I thought your Gov't protected people against those evil things. (or is it just the poor Aussies saddled with those laws?)

As to what is “live”, they are all good to go. The Aussies did get a rough deal as did the Brits and others are not so well off either. We do have strict laws here but as long as you meet all the restrictions and play the game carefully then things could certainly be far worse. We do have to comply with serious security checks both personal and for security as well. My strong room is fully steel lined with alarm sensors all round the outside and also the inside. The police also check things every year just to make sure things are on the up. | |
