CZ75, input please.

am looking at getting a CZ75 in 9mm, solid shape, blueing is at 80%, 2 extra mags, holster included, and might get the dies for reloading thrown in. price is $400 even. bearing in mind that i cant get guns for some of the prices that i have seen some of you guys across the border get, does this sound like a good deal? how about the CZ75's themselves, are they any good? i have read some good reviews and i must say they are a handsome pistol, but i am looking for some input from people that have owned them.

Thumbs up

I don't have one, but I do know several owners - they all love the CZ75. I have shot a couple, and have been impressed witht he accuracy and reliability. That price seems okay for what you are getting, and of course, it depends on where you are. I'd go for it!

I'd say the price is a bit on the high side (the local dealer has a new in box for $400 and that is cali prices) - but as big dawg said, depends on where you live.
I like the sights on the CZ75, but I don't have large hands & prefer slim stacks - the 1911 fits my hand better. Apart from that I've heard only good things.

i hear you on the price issue gunssb. i have done a lot of price comparing from my neck of the woods to places like cabellas and some private pricing as well. a lot of the ammo that is available to you guys is unheard of in canada. as for the size of the gun i am a big guy with hands the size of a buick. what i really wanted was the 1911A1 but i aint gonna have enough cash for one of them for a while. a nice used one of them can be had for $700 to $1000. the $400 the guy wants seems in touch with what others are going for and seems like it may do as a gun to satisfy my appetite till i get my 1911.

i read a bunch of reports and they all seemed really good. from looks, how they handle, accuracy, reliability, everyone seems to love the gun. i was afraid of getting a lemon and then after buying it finding out that everyone that owns guns knew they were lemons, well, everyone but me. and that doesnt seem the case here. thanks big dog.

CZ75 is a rock solid firearm....many of my friends back in South Africa had them....IMO it's the AK47 of the pistol world...$400 is a bit steep, but if you need a carry weapon that will last forever, get the 75. It is high up on my list as well...

Hello. I have had good luck with CZ firearms. Here are some observations on the CZ-75:

Don't just rely on me or anyone else now. Keep doing your homework as you are.

The first CZ75 I seen was brought over from Europe (mid 80's) from an AF aquaintance of mine. We allways thought this guy was AFOSI. Mysterious guy, kinda shady. At any rate, I fell in love with it.

Through the years Iv'e done a lot of reading on it. I'ts one of Jeff Coopers favorites. Now, I'm not saying Mr. Cooper is all knowing on any thing in particular, but I'd listen If Dale JR wanted to talk racing

If your used to a 1911, it's a nice transition. Yes the grip is larger, but the configuration works well. The gun is vault solid as well. Just a neat gun.

Nice report as usual Stephen :right:

let us know how it works out, I'll be one envious poster for sure :lucky:

BTW, my 2nd choice would be a Browning High Power.

well, good price, bad price, it is all a moot point now. i went and had a look at it and checked it over as best i could and i couldn't leave it behind. now i'm not the best guy to check over a gun but it seemed good and solid. a good friend of mine knew the guy i was buying it from and my friend said the seller was very honest. 5 to 10 buisness days for the paperwork to clear and i can take her home. oh i am a happy guy.
